Dual Diagnosis Clinician

The Dual Diagnosis Clinician provides individual weekly or every other week individual therapy to clients that are enrolled in the Residential Substance Abuse Program at Worcester County Jail and House of Corrections. In addition, the Clinician will lead or co-lead dual diagnosis groups with the program.

Minimum Education RequiredMaster's DegreeResponsibilities
Provide individual therapy to residents of the program to focus on dual diagnosis, trauma and mood disorders.
Facilitate or co-facilitate dual diagnosis groups within the program.
Develop treatment plans in collaboration with the person served.
Demonstrate a proactive commitment to maintaining effective communication with jail, mental health and substance abuse staff to facilitate and promote effective working relationships and best care for the individual and the facility.
Ensure that clinical services are being delivered and documented in accordance with Advocates clinical philosophy and all licensing and regulatory bodies.
Ensure all paperwork, reports, trainings are up to date and completed within the Divisions expected timelines.
Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or related field and current, state of MA and either independent licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and Licensed Mental Health Counselor is strongly preferred. Individuals who are license eligible may be considered but they must have completed their Master's Degree course work.
Excellent communication skills.
Strong computer knowledge.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Outstanding reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
Must hold a valid driver's license and have access to an operational and insured vehicle.
Strongly prefer a candidate that will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
